With the introduction of Divi Quick Sites, users can easily launch their websites by choosing from professionally designed starter sites or utilizing Divi AI for a seamless start.
Each starter site comes pre-loaded with essential pages, elegantly designed theme builder templates, customized global styles, and navigation menus. After establishing a starter site (similar to the demos of Avada), users can freely customize it to their liking using Divi's drag-and-drop page builder.
At the end of last month, a new Starter Site for Freelancers was added to the Divi theme.
Divi Theme: Layout Pages vs. Starter Site Templates
When creating pages with Divi Builder, you can load pre-designed layout page templates to construct your pages.
Currently, there are a total of 343 layout packs, showcasing an impressive 2503 layout page designs.
Layout designs can be loaded at the page level, allowing users to combine multiple layouts on one page, retain only the necessary elements, and remove any unwanted items to create a new page.
While Divi layouts are somewhat comparable to the page templates of the Elementor builder, Divi offers over 2500 unique layout designs, providing a broader range of options compared to Elementor.
This feature proves particularly valuable for those looking to create landing pages. For instance, the WordPress Coaching Program Site was crafted by mixing various Divi theme layouts. ๐
In contrast, starter sites operate on a site-wide level and resemble demos of Avada and Newspaper. If you're considering loading a starter site, it's advisable to first create a backup of the entire site for easy rollback in case you are not satisfied with the changes.
Since the release of starter sites, Divi has shifted to regularly adding new starter site templates while ceasing the addition of new layout designs.
Divi Theme vs. Avada Theme
The Divi theme's sales figures mirror those of the Avada theme, as they offer similar functionalities. Avada, a legendary theme, has continuously held the number one spot in sales on Themeforest for 11 years. ๐
WordPress Divi Theme: Launch of Freelance Starter Site
Since the introduction of starter sites, Divi appears to be transitioning existing layout designs into starter site templates. During my last review, Divi Quick Sites had registered 29 templates, but now it has expanded to 33. ๐
Recently, in addition to the freelancer starter site, new starter templates for AI (Artificial Intelligence), Yoga, and Bar categories have been added.
You can import the starter sites for the Divi theme by navigating to WordPress Admin Panel ยป Divi ยป Dashboard and clicking on the Generate A New Site button located in the Divi Quick Sites section.
It's worth noting that the Dashboard is translated as "๊ณ๊ธฐ๋ฐ" in Korean. Although the Divi theme UI is translated into Korean, some parts sound awkward, resembling automatic translations. You can disable language translation by adding the following code to the functions file of the Divi theme's child theme:

Unlike themes from Themeforest such as Avada and Newspaper, which require separate licenses for each site, Divi allows unlimited installations during the subscription period (1 year or lifetime), enabling users to freely utilize the images included in the layout page designs on their or their clients' sites without licensing worries. Although Themeforest themes are affordable for one site development, the cost escalates with the number of sites, whereas the one-time investment for a lifetime license with Divi may appear somewhat hefty initially but offers unlimited installations indefinitely. This made it a financially wise choice for freelancers like web agencies, designers, and developers targeting client sites.
